Business Unit Manager Retail / DIY Germany and Austria (m/w/d)

Your tasks:
  • Building and maintaining close relationships with relevant retail partners (DIY stores / discount stores)
  • Developing and implementing strategic customer plans regarding sales, margin and inventory targets
  • Create product segmentation strategies and business development opportunities through various distribution channels
  • Have regular conversations with customers to assess their needs, address concerns and offer solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as sales, marketing, and customer support
  • Ensure all forecasts are accurate to meet customer purchase quantities and inventory requirements
  • You will be responsible for creating and managing the sales budget and forecasts
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, market conditions and competitor activity to proactively identify potential threats and opportunities
  • Provide sales analysis
  • Be responsible for leading contract negotiations, renewals and pricing discussions in collaboration with the sales team
  • Close collaboration with the product development team is important
Your profile:
  • Proven experience as a key account manager (minimum 5 years) in the retail/DIY sector
  • Strong sales and account management skills with a proven track record of managing key accounts and achieving sales targets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with customers, understand their needs and build long-term relationships.
  • Strategic thinking and problem solving skills to identify customer challenges, propose innovative solutions and drive business growth
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, gain insights and make data-driven decision
  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite to manage customer information, track activity and generate reports
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing or a related field
  • Proven experience in sales, key account management or relevant customer relationship management roles
  • Knowledge of the industry or market
  • Strong business acumen and financial understanding
  • Willingness to travel to meet clients when required
  • English language skills at B2 level are a must
